The Lazy Dog Inn

The Lazy Dog Inn is Located in the picturesque Cordillera Blanca Mountains 8 kms from the city of Huaraz.  The Inn is made up of the main lodge and private mountain cabins. The  rooms in the main lodge consist of queen size beds, private baths and private balconies, the cabins provide 2 beds, private baths, fireplaces and an outside deck with superb views.
 
All the meals at “The Lazy Dog” are home cooked using fresh and healthy ingredients with most vegetables grown on site.  With some advance notice guests can request food preferences.  The weather in the area consists of two season, the sunny season (May – September) and the rainy season (October – April) the temperatures do not vary much with day time highs reaching 30 degrees and lows at nights at around 5 degrees.

Things to do:

 

The Huraz area of Peru is  know best for its stunning scenery and its many outdoor adventure activities.  The following activities can all be done directly from “The Lazy Dog Inn”

 

Hiking – Hiking around “the Lazy Dog Inn” is perfect for all age groups and fitness levels. There are kilometers of trails with spectacular views of the giant glaciated Cordillera Blanca. Mountain trekking is available for all distances or abilities and the lodge can help to outfit any needed equipment and guides.

 
Mountain Climbing - The giant peaks of the "Cordillers Blanca" are on the doorstep of "The Lazy Dog Inn" and will challenge all levels of mountaineers. The Inn is located near the entrances of five canyons offering ascents from easy to moderate to difficult. As like the trekking, equipment and guides can be arranged at the lodge.
 
Horse Back Trail Riding – The area around the Inn is a trail riding paradise with miles of open trail with spectacular views.  The Inn has a number of strong, gentle horses experienced with backcountry terrain that will take guests on trips from 1 to 4 hours. 
 
 
Rock Climbing – The surrounding canyons offer big granite walls for the experienced climbers. The “Casa de Guias” (Swiss certified Guide Association) use these canyons and peaks to train their guides. They can help those interested with guides and equipment.
 
 

 Mountain Biking – The trails and roads around “The Lazy Dog Inn” are endless and vary in technical difficulty. The routes will pass through canyons, farms and communities, never coming close to a busy road.  The Inn can provide bikes and arrange gear and guides
